On Wed. Dec. 7, 2016  the Gibran Chair is organizing the Annual Fall Symposium on Arab Women and Peace at the University of Maryland - College Park.
President of Alwaref Institute, Marah Bukai, will be a keynote speaker through the event and will inform the audience on the involvement of Syrian women toward a possible Peace in Syria.

Al Waref Institute is joining the cause of Bread for the World organization to help end poverty and hunger in the world. Countries in which a large portion of the population battles hunger daily are usually poor and often lack the social safety nets we enjoy, such as soup kitchens, food stamps and job training programs. When a family that lives in a poor country cannot grow enough food or earn enough money to buy food, there is nowhere to turn for help.
